Light & Truth Memoirs is a stylized collection of portraits by Ellie Kay that explores belonging, shame, and human connection through photography, stories, and video. Rooted in personal narrative and lived experience, the project uses storytelling as a means of dissolving isolation and fostering empathy. Influenced by cinematic portraiture and the emotional depth of Renaissance paintings, the work balances intimacy with a broader reflection on shared humanity.

At its core, Light & Truth asks how perception shifts when we choose compassion over judgment, and what becomes possible when we recognize ourselves in one another.
